"The important things is this: To be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are, for what we could become." ~Charles Dubois
As the snow finally begins to melt away, hints of green start to appear, and the promise of flowers lingers in the air... Spring is upon us. Clichées about spring cleaning, April showers bringing May flowers, and "springing into...", begin to get tossed about. The magic and vibrancy of Mother Earth during this season is inescapable. Many of us begin to embody the qualities of nature ourselves as we let go of that which is no longer serving us and embark on new growth - spring cleaning, cleanses or detoxes, new creative projects, etc.
During a time when Mother Nature herself is churning the soil, planting seeds, and watering her creation, the bodhi tree is no exception. For many of our dedicated practitioners, it is apparent that this practice is so much more than the physical body and making poses. Yoga affords us the opportunity to begin asking the big questions... "Who am I?", "What is my purpose?", "How can I serve?"... and we at the Tree couldn't be more dedicated to supporting you in that journey.
The spark of intrigue that ignites one's curiousity can be found anywhere... an inspiring quote, a glance into a stranger's smiling face, a conversation with a friend or teacher, or a fellow student. For those intent on unravelling their own inner workings and who have perhaps already begun asking those big questions, the staff and teachers at the Tree are always here to support you and are excited to hear about your journey.
Starting May 1st, we are embarking on our very first 21 Day Awakening, designed to provoke meaningful questions, inspire self-inquiry, and provide you with meaningful tools and resources.

Much love and light from everyone in the bodhi tree family.

Join us Wednesdays at noon for our Karma yoga class!
This community-based class is offered as an inexpensive option for yoga, as well as to support local charities. There is a $5 minimum donation, and anything more that you can offer is welcomed.
In 2010, we raised over $6000 for our charity, the Women's Centre of Calgary.
In 2011, BYC is taking the Karma Yoga program to a whole new level. In support of three different charities, we will be sending our BYC Teachers to locations in need across the city to give the gift of yoga, in addition to supporting them with cash donations. Please join us Wednesdays at noon as we come together to bring light and hope to those in need in our community.
Thank you for your support!
