"In a dark time, the eye begins to see."

~Theodore Roethke, poet (1908-1963)

New You New Year

December 21st marks the Winter Solstice. This is our darkest day of the year and from this point, very, very slowly, the hours of daylight begin to grow longer.

Our creative cycles flow like the seasons. We have periods of reflective time, coupled with periods of action and inter-action. Both the dark and the light are necessary to foster new concepts.

Are you yearning for creative renewal?

Now is the time to shine from within…

Join me in creating a radiant new year. You don't have to be an artist to benefit from working with the mandala. When you make a mandala, you resonate with the essence of your deepest self and the collective spirit. Making mandalas can restore a feeling of peace and calm, while imparting an innate understanding of the mysteries of the universe.

Mind's Eye Courses for Winter 2010

Please join me at the Introduction to Mandala Drawing days most Tuesday and Saturday afternoons through January and February. I'm trying something new: Drop In Classes. Scheduled around lunch this is a chance to center yourself, create something meaningful and keep your art practice alive.

Ready to dig in deeper? Try my popular: Mosaics from the Mind's Eye offered as a 6-week immersion course February 9 – March 18.

Create your own curriculum with Private Sessions by appointment.

The above courses will be held at my new Sausalito studio. Beginners and return students always welcome. Book early, as each class is limited to six to eight people.

Also coming up...

Intro to Roman Mosaics at Institute of Mosaic Art in Jingletown (Oakland) lays the foundation for working in the historic medium of the Muses. Weekend workshop February 13-14.

I was invited to join their roster of Meditative Arts: Introduction to Mandala Drawing at O'Hanlon Center for the Arts, in the magical redwood forest of Mill Valley, Saturdays, March 6, 13, 20.

Warmest wishes and blessings to you and your family this holiday season!
