"In our imaginations we believe that love is apart from us. Actually there is nothing but love, once we are ready to accept it. When you truly find love, you find yourself." ~Deepak Chopra
Guided by the wisdom of Deepak Chopra and evidenced by our practices on the mat, as we journey along the path of our lives many of us wake up to the realization that love is not something to be sought outside of ourselves. Love is the stuff we are made of and everything we are searching for is to be found within.
Let this February be not just another month, nor this Valentine's Day be just another day. Regardless if you are in relationship, the celebration of love transcends the space-time continuum we exist in and is worthy of further examination. If it takes a commercial holiday to prompt this re-examination, let it be a catalyst to the remembrance of a concept you've likely heard so many times before - all you seek resides within. Whether this statement rings intimately true for you or is still a curious idea, trust in the knowing that you already have everything you need to fill yourself up with the kind of joy, love and light that overflows from the boundaries of your skin and pours onto all those around you!
This month's newsletter, upcoming workshops, and our Inhale & Exhale articles are rich with tools, events and words of wisdom from teachers and members of our community - sure to shine a bright light on your unique path. May we all awaken to our essence of light and love this month!

Unveiling the Heart
Welcome to February, the month of the heart. How fitting that the word “heart” has lately become a mainstay in my everyday vocabulary. Naturally, one cannot mention the word "heart" without including her emotional representation - "love". Oh please... you're thinking rose petals and champagne, right? No. Or maybe - if that's your thing. This article seeks to celebrate not only the invincible, transformative quality of the heart, but it's ability to love in a way that is tender, romantic, wild and fierce.

Our new student monthly installment plan has been a huge hit so far! It's $79 to buy-in, and then $79 per month for unlimited yoga! We ask for a minimum 6-month commitment and if you stay on for 12 months, your 13th month is free! See our lovely front desk staff for details, or to sign-up.
Illness Prevention
Whether it's the flu season, or you've got a nasty cold, we kindly ask all students to refrain from practicing if they are sick. Practicing when ill puts others at risk and prolongs recovery time.

Karma Yoga |
|

Join us Wednesdays at noon for our Karma yoga class!
This community-based class is offered as an inexpensive option for yoga, as well as to support local charities. There is a $5 minimum donation, and anything more that you can offer is welcomed.
In 2010, we raised over $6000 for our charity, the Women's Centre of Calgary.
In 2011, BYC is taking the Karma Yoga program to a whole new level. In support of three different charities, we will be sending our BYC Teachers to locations in need across the city to give the gift of yoga, in addition to supporting them with cash donations. Please join us Wednesdays at noon as we come together to bring light and hope to those in need in our community.
Thank you for your support.
